Meditating for 40 and getting married in 30 – Wanna join?

If you are brand new to meditation, it is best to start small and slowly increase your times as you are ready.
Many of you know that I am getting married in 30 days on June 8th. (Yes there is a lot going on in my household lol!)
In addition to our wedding planning, Randy and I have decided to do a 40+ day meditation together starting TODAY (May 9th, 2013) with the New Moon and going through the HARVEST MOON (June 23rd 2013) right into Summer Solstice. This feels like a great way to start off our union! We announced this in yoga class last Sunday and a few of you were interested in joining us. You can use any meditation from any system as your 40 day meditation as long as it resonates with you. Choose to do 11 minutes (affects your nervous system), 31 minutes (affects your organs) or 62 minutes (begins to reprogram the subconscious mind). If you are brand new to meditation, it is best to start small and slowly increase your times as you are ready. For best results, commit to doing the meditation around the same time every day – of course if things come up, you just get it in where you can.
It is also quite helpful to choose a meditation partner or partners to practice with you – either in person (or over the phone). You can use our private group facebook page to search for a partner if no one comes to mind. Having a partner gives you accountability and also gives you grace. If you and your partners are practicing together faithfully for 20 days or so, and some major (or minor) conflict arises where you are not able to practice, your partner can hold space for you… and you for them. Of course, you don’t want to get in the habit of missing days throughout this process, because that would cheat you of the powerful shifts in habitual patterns that come from committing to anything good for 40 days.
If you just want to get your feet wet a little bit, then start with doing just 9 days on your own. Then once you complete that, add another 9 days and keep adding little by little until you make it to 40 days. Don’t commit to doing it with a partner until you are truly on board with the highs and lows of the process.

If you have never practiced kundalini yoga, be sure to contact me or a certified kundalini yoga teacher in your area to set up a private session (in person or over skype) to be sure you are practicing your kundalini yoga kriya correctly. As a part of my personal sadhana (morning practice), I am currently practicing Wahe Guru Kriya [recommended in my tantric numerology report and my intuition 🙂 ]. As a couple, Randy and I are practicing Sodarchan Chakra Kriya along with Qi-gong exercises.
